There are moments of such light and clarity in all of our lives that they define our passions and purposes from that time on. For me, one such moment came on a street corner in Brighton, UK. Having flown from Australia to Rome and then driven from Rome to Brighton in only 3 days, I was feeling somewhat dazed and lost. Suddenly, drifting from a window nearby, came a sound which until that moment had only ever existed in my mind: the bass line of my latest choral composition. It was if time and space were momentarily suspended and the whole world was reduced to those disembodied voices. Here, halfway across the globe, my music was alive; and I was hooked.
